Catty Shack ‘Bomb Drop’ 40/70 Slingshot Tube

(3 customer reviews)

£3.50

A very high quality tube, capable of very good speed and performance. I would not recommend this band for any less than 11mm steel / 10mm lead, or more than 14mm steel / 12mm lead.

Tested speeds;

11mm steel – 237fps
12mm steel – 221fps
14mm steel – 190fps

These speeds were tested with a brand new set of tubes, so these speeds will only increase as the tube stretches in.

Price is per metre, so the number ordered will be the amount of metres you will receive. Orders will be sent as one piece where possible.

  1. Dan

    I really like these bands! I’m using them with an active stretch of 16cm to throw 12mm lead with a mini catapult that has 13mm fork tips.
    Got my first wood pigeon with them just now while out walking the dogs.

  2. Dan

    After making about 50 shots with these tubes they stretch and their draw weight and power decreases. After they stretched I found I needed to take them off the catapult and cut them 2cm shorter then reattach them for them to maintain their original power.
    (16cm active stretch the first time I cut them / 14cm active stretch the second time I cut them, for a 65cm draw length). Cut at 14cm the first time round, the draw weight was too heavy for me pull the tubes back to my anchor point. Even with the additional cutting and reattaching I still prefer these tubes over the 20mm-10mm double theraband gold with an active stretch of 14cm that I’ve been using for ages. I’ve only ever used TBG before so I have nothing else to compare them too.

  3. Dan

    After being cut shorter twice and used for about 40 shots per cut, 80 shots approximately in total, these tubes seem to have stopped stretching for the time being. I’m now down to a 11cm active stretch.
    With 12mm lead I was consistently getting a bit of hand slap every shot before the tubes stretched each time so I’ve filled some M10 hex nuts with lead to make some 18g ammo.
    Final verdict and the conclusion to my 3 part review after using the tubes for over a week; After they’ve been broken in with my draw length I like them with 18g lead filled hex nuts shooting close range targets (less than 10m away).
